For years, web companies have charged monthly fees for automated “content services” as a convenience to small businesses. Business owners are attracted to this premium content option. Industry-specific articles are automatically generated and posted on your site weekly, without you having to lift a finger.
The game is now over.
Google is now heavily penalizing websites that post this “copy” content, and most small businesses don’t even realize what is happening. In fact, they are still paying for the very service that is now hindering and suppressing their reach online.
Here is an example of a blog post that was recently produced for CPAs to show up on their blogs. I wanted to see just how many companies were doing this. Today, 11/11/14, I searched Google for the first 2 sentences of this post. It returned a list of over 6,500 results. These are websites that posted either all or part of that blog post on their site. This is hurting them in all Google search rankings. Google’s algorithm has basically given those websites a “copycat” identity because their most current content is not at all unique.
East Orange Here’s the good news.
Google is rewarding websites that are contributing good organic content online. By doing so, you can quickly become an authority within your market and niche.
Gone are the days when parroted noise was unfairly competing for eyeballs. Fresh voices are now now being heard, and it’s not by just repeating themselves.
